Dear Reader,

When I was working as a physicist at the university I could approach any real-world problem trying over and over again, making calculations and suppositions on paper, starting from a toy model and honing my skill day by day. If I’d made a mistake, no one was supposed to see the errors, there was no necessity to show them to anyone.

A little bit of humility and resignation, and the sheet of paper would hit the the trash can, piling up with the others.

A true mistake would be to try to publish my work anyway, even if I knew that there might be flaws or if the work was somehow wishy washy.

In “Real Life” this kind of approach is often impossibile. You have to roll with the punches, improvise through the situation, get to the end bearing with any mistake you made.

That provides anxiety, excitement, frustration… the whole shebang of emotional turmoil!

Are there alternatives? I don’t think so…

Until next time, keep your trusty trash bin nearby, yet don’t be afraid to go with the flow.
